Simple Pleasures: September 12th

Again, sorry this didn't go up last night

- getting all of my clean laundry put away, my bedroom looks so much less cluttered now!

- Trying a new recipe for Book Club, phyllo wrapped baked mozzarella sticks....unfortunately, they had nowhere near the structural integrity I was hoping for, the cheese melted out of the phyllo and it become a gooey mess, but they tasted really good, and people seemed to enjoy them, so that's good :)

- Book Club Book Club Book Club!!!! I love our Story Book Club, it's so wonderful to discuss literature with awesome, intelligent, yet hilarious and laidback friends :) And OMG we FEAST!!!

Man I have to join a book club. It sounds like so much fun! No one else around me reads the same books I do, or read for that matter. Kind of depressing!

Oh no! How many sheets of phyllo did you use? When I did them we used two sheets stacked on each other and cut and rolled them around the sticks. All but a few of those leaked cheese, too, but I thought it was just my amateur wrapping job. I probably should have posted a warning on the blog... sorry about that!

Things I Want to Do

1. Travel to California to visit Nubby and Pookie in San Francisco and Emily in Los Angeles
2. Lose 30lbs. Or, at least two solid pants sizes and at least 8% of my total body fat.
3. Move to the greater NYC area. Anywhere that is a train ride of 60 minutes or less into Manhattan.
4. Return to and stick with my Yoga Practice, incorporating class sessions and at-home sessions.
5.Attend services at a Unitarian Universalist Church. Completed 4/29/12 :)
6. Take a Belly Dancing Class.
7. Go back to Europe.
8. Go back to Cape Cod.
9. Finish a Queen Size Bed Quilt.
10. Finish a Painting
11. Lay naked in the rain.
12. Achieve at least a conversational level of proficiency in American Sign Language.
13. Go on a Meditation Retreat
14. Try at least 5 new ethnic cuisines (Ethiopian, Vietnamese, etc)
15. Go Camping (as in no running water, sleeping in a tent, cooking over a fire) for at least two nights.
16. Bathe in a Natural Hot Spring.
17. Make homemade cheese. Completed 5/4/11 :)
18. Attend a Music Festival.
19. Buy something totally frivolous,ridiculously expensive, and utterly fabulous. Completed January 20th 2012 (My Wedding Dress:)
20. Volunteer with a Humanitarian Organization.
21. Organize, print and/or publish all of my photos in a forum other than Facebook.
22. Submit an Entry to PostSecret.
23. Participate in a Flash Mob. Completed 1/9/13
24. Sit for a Nude photography session and/or pose as a Nude model for an Art class.
25. Go on a Spa Weekend, where I do nothing but rest, relax, and receive pampering body treatments.
26. Become a better photographer, by taking classes and practice.
27. Go to an Oceanside Boardwalk.
28. Go to Colonial Williamsburg.
29. Spend a miminum of 30 days on the *Locavore Diet*, consuming only foods that I grew myself or that were grown or produced within a 90 minute drive of my house....
30. Go on a road trip to (and through) areas of the United States I have never been to before ...
31. Take a Pottery Class.
32. Go to a Drive-In Movie Theatre
33. Have an artist use my body as a canvas, or in simpler terms, be painted :)
